Baneshwar Fair is a popular tribal festival held around the Baneshwar Temple of Dungarpur. The festival is held during the full moon day in the month of February and attracts a large number of tourists. On this pious occasion, 'Bhils' travel all the way from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to take a dip at the confluence of the rivers, Mahi and Som. This festival showcases dance forms and music from the region.
The cultural program on 08 February, 2017 will begin with folk performances by local artists at 7pm. The evening will be wrapped up with a spiritual ‘Bhajan Recital’. On 9 and 10 February, folk performances, have been organised by West Zone Cultural Center of Udaipur. These events will take place between 7 pm to 10pm. Other major attractions at the fair will include ‘Tribal Sports’ and ‘Religious processions’. Merchants will also be selling their wares at the ‘Tribal Bazar’. The festival will also host highly energetic ‘Gair Dance’ performances. Deepdaan and other attractions will also be a part of the festival.
