To increase air connectivity between major tourist destination cities of Rajasthan, the state government has rolled out Intra-Rajasthan air services. The first flight of an intra-state air service from Jaipur to Udaipur via Jodhpur was launched yesterday in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Rajasthan's Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje flagged off the 9-seater aircraft of Supreme Airlines from the Sanganer Airport State Hangar to Jodhpur. With the roll-out of intra-State air services in Rajasthan, major tourist and business destinations in the desert State will get air connectivity, giving benefit to tourism, heritage and business sectors. Flights will start from Jaipur to Jodhpur and Udaipur in the first phase, while air services for other cities will become operational later. Supreme Airlines will operate flights for 6 days in a week, except Sundays, with a 9 seater Cessna Caravan-C 208B for the flights from Jaipur - Jodhpur - Udaipur and back.

The airlines will operate intra-state flights for 6 days a week with a 9-seater plane. The flight will start from Jaipur at 10.15 am to reach Jodhpur at 11.30 am. It will fly back at 11.45 am from Jodhpur to reach Jaipur at 1:00 pm. At 4.30 pm, the plane will fly from Jaipur to reach Udaipur at 6 pm and fly back at 6.15 pm from Udaipur to reach Jaipur at 7.45 pm. In the first phase Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur are added. While Jaisalmer and Bikaner will be added in the next phase. In the first phase of Regional Air Flight Connectivity Scheme, flights from Jaipur to Jodhpur and Udaipur have started. It will take 75 minutes for the nine-seater Cessna Caravan 208B aircraft to reach Jodhpur from Jaipur. This aircraft will then return to Jaipur by afternoon and fly to Udaipur in the evening in 90 minutes. The flight will then return to Jaipur from Udaipur the same day. In the second phase, flights will operate from other cities, including Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Kota, at cheaper rates. Officials said that to improve business and tourism in the state, the state government aims to provide all-time air connectivity to tourists and entrepreneurs, so that they can fly to the state capital conveniently.
