Jaipur Literature Festival from January 16 to 20, 2014 is a celebration of national & international writers. This festival is held in the historic and beautiful city of Jaipur and the event itself is a celebration of literature in all its avatars. The works of renowned national and international authors across a range of topics are showcased at the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival.
Those who believe literary brilliance doesn’t exist any more will be proven wrong once they visit this literature festival held at the gorgeous Diggi Palace, a heritage property of great elegance. Participants indulge in activities encompassing select readings, talks, literary lunches, debates, performances, children’s workshops and interactive activities from some of the luminaries of the literature world.
From Nobel laureates to local language writers, Man Booker prize winners to debut novelists, every January the most remarkable, witty, sensitive and brilliant collection of authors come together for five days of readings, debates and discussions at the beautiful Diggi Palace in the Rajasthani capital.
JLF, which began in 2006, is now regarded as a cultural catalyst within India and around the world, exposing audiences to a constant flow of ideas. Featuring live music sessions and interactive workshops, the Festival provides a space to dare, dream and imagine.
Scheduled to be inaugurated by Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva and the Keynote Address by Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, the literature festival has over 250 authors and 175 sessions to host. The theme of this festival has five days of debate and discussion, from fiction to biography, history to music, theatre and Bollywood to media, and social agendas, set across more than one venue in a very cultural yet liberating setting!
The music stage for January 17 to 20, 2014 is set at the Hotel Clarks Amer- Jaipur.
