Jaipur Photo is an international open-air travel photography festival held annually at heritage locations across the Pink City. Its core aim is to explore the subject of travel in relation to photography. It offers a curated selection of photography inspired by the notion of journeys and visions as an outsider staged at various public locations across Jaipur. The visitors are invited to discover its remarkable heritage while by visiting the large-format exhibitions, which will be site-specific.
The Jaipur Photo Festival will host 18 exhibitions across four heritage sites. The curators, led by the critic Federica Chiocchetti, plan to put together unconventional exhibits using large prints that will be adapted to the architecture of the venues. The extraordinary architectural heritage of Jaipur will serve as a backdrop to the exhibitions, also inspiring several site-specific installations. The second edition of the international photography festival will begin on 24 February and the exhibitions will carry on till 05 March. Besides photo exhibitions, it will have two special interventions and a series of talks by eminent personalities from the photography industry. Jaipur Photo will also host a workshop on photobook making by Japan’s Yumi Goto, who launched Tokyo’s legendary Reminders Project. The award-winning Argentinian photographer Mariela Sancari will also host a workshop.
The festival exhibitions will be staged at various public locations across Jaipur, inviting visitors to discover the city’s heritage.
