Jairangam - Jaipur Theatre Festival 2012

“Jairangam-Celebrating Theatre” to be the most exciting, innovative and accessible Festival of Theatre is scheduled from 19th-25^th November, 2012 where the theatre lovers in Jaipur will witness numerous forms of theatre art. This National level theatre festival would promote the cultural, educational and economic well-being of the people in Jaipur.

The festival is dedicated to Guru Rabindra Nath Tagore and Saadat Hasan Manto. Jairangam 12 is clubbing around 750 + artists from the country. The famous personalities who would be the centre of attraction for the festival will be “Ratan Thiyam, Manik das Ompuri ( Natha Peepli Live fame)  ,Ranjit Kapoor, Tripurari Sharma, Teekam Joshi , Arvind Gaur and Nageen Tanveer”.

The artists performing in the festival had staged their shows around the globe and are well recognized as eminent theatre personalities even outside India.

The plays to be staged from outside the city in the festival will include many recognized plays like Ramkali, Jaat hi Poocho Sadho Ki, May Be This Summer, Begum Ka Takiya, Charandas Chor, Chekhow Ki Duniya, Kanupriya, When We Dead Awaken, and Jaipur theatre will perform Visarjan, In Rishton Ko Kya Naam Diya Jaye?, valentine’s Day, Sylviya,Teen Tappar & 30 Days in September.
