A new access control highway will be constructed between Delhi and Jaipur reducing the travel time between the two cities. The 270-km distance that takes around 6 hours will now be reduced to a bare minimum of 2 hours. An intelligent transport system - with CCTV cameras installed to monitor the traffic rule violators would be put in place on NH-8. The project would cost Rs 16,000 crore and the work will start in January, 2017. The land acquisition process for the new highway should also be started soon. On plans to ensure seamless traffic flow on NH-8, work on the flyover at IMT Manesar Chowk would be completed soon. Four underpasses and as many flyovers would be constructed to make the traffic movement seamless.
