Two new-born tiger cubs have been sighted in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, situated in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan.
With just a few more days for the park to close on June 30, tourists are enjoying the baby boom at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Wednesday morning two cubs were sighted by the tourists in Dhakda in Kachida area of the park in zone 5. According to the forest department, T-73 could be the mother of the two-three months old cubs and there is a possibility that there could be more cubs. T-73, a shy and small tigress is the daughter of T-17 aka Sundari, that was the most sighted tigress in this tourism zone. This would bring cheer to the wildlife lovers as this area, for a long, time has been devoid of any tigers. While T-5 died in this area, T-17 disappeared mysteriously and two tigers from this area were shifted to the Sariska Tiger Reserve.
Ranthambore Tiger Reserve currently has 43 adults, 25 male and 18 female along with 19 cubs bringing it to a total of 62. Tourists these day have a different experience at the park with T-60 sighting with three cubs estimated to be four months old in the Guda area, T-61 with two cubs in the zone 7 and 8 of the Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary in the tourism zone. Add to that T-63 has been seen in the Lahpur area with two cubs that are about seven-eight months old.
