Chaitra Navaratri, and it’s nine days are dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti in the month of Chaitra (March–April). The beginning of this Navaratri also marks the start of the Hindu new year as per the lunar calendar (Vikrami Samvat). The dates of the festival are determined according to the lunar calendar and so they vary each year. The dates for Navratras this year are 28 March to 05 April, 2017.
There will be NO elephant ride available at the Amber fort during this period. The Elephant ride at Amber Fort will be CLOSED from 27 March to 06 April, 2017 for a period of 11 days, i.e a day before the Navratra up till a day after the Navratras. An alternative ride will be available at the Elephant village.
