The Sacred Festival Pushkar- a festival of music, yoga and meditation’ celebrates the ethereal charm of Pushkar with a range of activities designed to immerse you in a soulful experience.
Imagine yourself at the Maha Aarti on the ghats of Pushkar against the pink hued winter evening sky as performances by renowned Sufi singers take center stage. The upcoming edition of 'Shree The Sacred Festival Pushkar', is scheduled to take place on 16-17 December, 2017 and promises to be a celebration of this ancient and holy city of Rajasthan. The Sacred Pushkar Festival with roots in openness and inclusiveness presents various traditions of music, meditation and yoga. This unique curation captures the essence of Pushkar.
The festival returns for it's 3rd edition this year with sacred musical performances, yoga workshops, guided meditation, curated heritage walks in the city and more. The Festival will bring together some of the most powerful and diverse, national and international performers from various traditions of Sacred Music – Sufi, Gospel, Acapella, Folk and Classical music to Pushkar – a town textured with the tapestry of ancientness, mysticism, mythology, an inclusive cultural heritage and a deep sense of history and spiritual calm. It will also feature some renowned names such as Grammy award-winning percussionist Vikku Vinayakram, Rashmi Agarwal, headline performances by Kavita Seth and Laboratorium PieÅ›ni from Poland.
Mornings will come alive at the Jaipur Ghat with experienced practitioners conducting Morning Yoga and Meditation sessions, Chanting and Sacred Music performances by renowned musicians. The highlight this year will be the alternation of vocal and instrumental performance. There will also be a specially crafted organic Bazaar, which will include interactive spaces to learn traditional and healthy cuisines and taste the delectable food that Pushkar has to offer.
After spending an eventful day enjoying the ghats and by-lanes of Pushkar, the scintillating Evening music will mark the culmination at the ethereal Jaipur Ghat. The Evening Music will feature performances by Vikku Vinayakram, a Grammy award-winning percussionist, Laboratorium Pieśni (Song Laboratory), a female group of A Capella singers from Tri-City (Poland) known for traditional and polyphonic singing and Singhini Research Centre, a Nepalese organization which is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the music and dance of the Himalayas and many others.
While the morning/evening musical performances and heritage walks (Prior Registration Required - http://thesacred.in/) are free and open to all, one can also opt for their customized delegate package. Delegate packages include Transfers from Ajmer railway station, invitation to the festival’s opening reception, nagada workshop, access to morning and evening music with special VIP seating for all the performances, qawwali evening at Ajmer Sharif, visit to savitri Temple by the rope-way and heritage and food walks (Prior registration required).
