Kota Adventure Festival

Held every year in Kota, Rajasthan, this festival coincides with the religious festival of Dussera. Tall sculptures and shiny figures are the highlights of this festival that lasts over two weeks.Tourists from across the world can participate in various events such parasailing, rafting, wind surfing, water skiing and kayaking. Also available are rock climbing, gliding, trekking, angling and rural excursions. The panoramic and stunning view of the Chambal River adds to the beauty and excitement of the Adventure Festival.
Dussera Festival

Kota, Rajasthan
Assumed to have begun in 1723, this is the most unique celebration of the Hindu festival of Dussera in India. The day marks the victory of Lord Ram over demon King Ravana. For the celebrations, locals in traditional dresses join long processions to reach the 75 foot effigies of Ravana and his brothers. Filled with fireworks, these effigies are set on fire for a spectacular display for fireworks for everyone to enjoy. Various cultural programmes are also organised including performance of ‘Ramleela’ - the play on the story of Ram and Ravan, by local artists.
Bundi Utsav

Bundi, Rajasthan
This little known town of Rajasthan comes alive for three days with the 3-day Bundi Utsav, held every year in November. A cultural event complete with traditional music, folk dance, kabaddi, horse riding and camel races, fireworks and a moustache as well as a turban-tying competitions that bring the streets alive. The festival attracts locals from all surrounding villages and towns making it the biggest party to attend in the area! With Diwali, the biggest Hindu festival of lights, coinciding with this festival, evenings are dedicated to lighting clay lamps around the houses and also floating them in the Chambal river creating a magical experience.
Chandrabhaga Fair

A quaint town in rural Rajasthan with forts, magnificent palaces, charming wildlife, traditional fairs and festivals hosts the Chandrabhaga Festival on the banks of the river of the same name every year. The fair and festival happens in Jhalarapatan, six kilometres from Jhalawar with the locals taking a a holy dip in the river Chadrabhaga which nourishes this region. The cattle trade fair also happens during this time with traders from across the country meet to buy and sell various livestock like cow, buffaloes, camels and horses. An excellent opportunity to interact with the local villagers and to understand the rural Rajasthan, this fair is not to be missed.
