Day 1 Arrival in Jaipur – Introduction to the Historic Pink City

Continue to City Palace in the centre of Jaipur. The palace complex formed the royal heart of the planned capital and contains a series of courtyards, gateways and former ceremonial areas. Its architecture provides a useful contrast with Amber because the palace was designed within an organised urban setting rather than behind the defensive walls of an isolated hill stronghold.

Walk afterwards to nearby Jantar Mantar, where Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II commissioned monumental instruments for astronomical observation and calculation. Understanding their purpose adds an unexpected scientific dimension to the day. Day 3 Jaipur to Pushkar via Ajmer – Ajmer Sharif and Sacred Pushkar

Leave Jaipur after breakfast and travel west towards Ajmer, a historic city surrounded by the Aravalli hills. The principal visit is Ajmer Sharif Dargah, associated with the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. It remains a major pilgrimage destination, drawing devotees from different regions and religious backgrounds.

Proceed through the busy lanes leading towards the dargah and follow the local procedures for entry. Visitors should dress respectfully and pay attention to rules concerning footwear, photography and personal belongings. Crowd levels can vary considerably, particularly during religious occasions, so the programme retains flexibility rather than assigning an unrealistic fixed duration to the shrine visit.

After Ajmer, continue the relatively short journey towards Pushkar. Although the two destinations are close geographically, their atmosphere changes noticeably. Later, walk towards Pushkar Lake and its surrounding ghats.
