In a much lively and conventional way, the Asian Powerlifting Championship 2012 was commenced on May01 at the Hotel Inder Residency,Udaipur. Around 270 athletes from 18 Asian nations participated in this 6 day sporting action hosted under the banner of Asian Powerlifting Federation (APF).
Mangilal Garasia, Minister of Youth and Sports, Government of Rajasthan inaugurated the Asian Powerlifting Championship by cutting the ribbon, while the district chief, Madhu Mehta lighted the lamp as a traditional and cultural symbol of starting any event.
A traditional dance show was equally enjoyed by all the athletes and their respective team members who danced with the artists on the stage which was followed by a contemporary dance show by professional body builders.
The Asian Powerlifting championship 2012 lasted till May07, 2012 with back to back shows and grand finale.
