Rajasthan, land of princes, comprised many small kingdoms ruled over by clans who warred constantly for supremacy and individually tried to stem the tide of the Islamic invasions. The clans were all Rajputs, which means sons of kings, and claimed descent from the early Aryan warriors known as the kshatriyas. Rajasthan is among the richest states in the country as far as the field of arts and crafts is concerned. May be it was a result of the war like lifestyle of the people of Rajasthan which sharpened the creative senses, artistic skills and inspired them to create the most opulent and richest of treasures.
It exceeds the human imagination with haunting desert music in the backdrop of huge and massive forts and palaces. Hawa Mahal of Jaipur, Sam sand dunes of Jaisalmer, Lake palace of Udaipur, the Brahma temple of Pushkar, Ranthambhore National Park, Chittaurgarh fort are just some of the treasures on the long list of treasured destinations of Rajasthan .
