The World Environment Day, observed since 1973 to create global awareness on the importance of conserving mother Earth, is celebrated on June 5 every year. The theme for this environment day is "Go Wild For Life - Zero tolerance for the illegal wildlife trade." With this theme, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) encourages each one of us to fight against the illegal trade in wildlife and to help safeguard species under threat for future generations. With the theme of 'Go Wild For Life', this year's World Environment Day aims at zero tolerance for the illegal wildlife trade and the basic need to safeguard the wildlife species.
