A lit up Mehrangarh Fort and colourful cultural performances to give it company, the Rajasthan International Folk Festival comes every year to the royal ‘Sun city’ of Jodhpur. Jodhpur RIFF, an event that welcomes musicians and performing artists from across the world to celebrate Rajasthan’s musical heritage for five days.
Timed to coincide with the brightest full moon of the year in north India, Sharad Poornima, Jodhpur RIFF features a series of spectacular concerts and events based in and around Mehrangarh Fort - voted “Asia’s Best Fortress” by Times Magazine.
Started in the year 2007, Jodhpur RIFF becomes an annual feature. The jubilee brings together a host of talented musicians and dancers and Jodhpur to celebrate the music and culture of Rajasthan.
Classically known as one of the most beautiful music festivals of India, RIFF is set against the splendid backdrop of the Mehrangarh Fort. Some of the most refreshing artistic performances that involve a enchanting fusion of transnational and local artists are part of this festival.
Apart from breathtaking performances at the venue, the festival also involves interactive performances for tourists. The event is also includes smaller events like a jazz night, interactive folk music and dance sessions.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of events including traditional dance forms, a jazz night, a Rajasthani night and some early morning ragas to soothe the soul.
