Set against the backdrop of the magnificent Kumbhalghar Fort, the Kumbhalghar Festival features performances by folk artists, and art camp, puppet show, and puppet-making exhibitions. The three-day long festival, organised by the Rajasthan Tourism Department on will be held between Dec 01-03, 2017. The annual festival in the fort is in remembrance of the passion of Maharana Kumbha, the creator of Kumbhalgarh who was a great promoter of Indian martial and fine arts, architecture and learning.
The Kumbhalgarh Festival is set to mesmerize visitors with the unique combination of performances during the three day fest. With Cultural Programs lined up from 7 Pm up-till 8 PM on all three days. The morning hours will have a variety of events to keep the visitors busy. Puppetry corner, art camp, folk dance & music, turban tying competitions, tug of war and painting competitions will take place between 11 am up-till 3 pm on all three days. Sound and light shows are organized with the fort as the background along with various concerts and dance events that are organised to commemorate the function.
Kumbhalgarh Festival, one of the most important and culturally enriching festival is celebrated on the highest peak of the Aravalli Hills. The festival has been celebrated in full swing for the past 6 centuries. The festival takes place at the Kumbhalgarh Fort. The fort is at a height of 1014 meters above sea level. The fort is also a World Heritage Site. It was built by Rana Kumbha during the 15th century. It is a magnificent Mewar fortress. The basic purpose to build this medieval fort was to protect the kingdom from invaders.
