Tips and tricks to pack for your next trip to Jaipur!

Travelling to Rajasthan, shed all those layers!

The month of October is the best time to visit this desert land. While the temperatures continue to drop once the monsoon has passed, come October winter starts to sets in that lasts till February.  The days are usually warm, sometimes still hot with really pleasant evenings, it really is the best time to be outdoors! With these pointers, you can be sure to stay comfortable within the elements. We recommend -

A sun hat and an umbrella are advisable - You must carry a high factor sun block along with that sun hat. The sun could be harsh here.

A pair of great walking shoes are a must - Be it shopping or sightseeing, you have to walk a lot to explore his city. Some parts of the old city should be explored by foot so a comfortable pair of walking shoes are a must.

A Coat - With a slight nip in the air as winter starts to settle in October on-wards, it would do no harm for you to carry a light weight coat along with you as the evenings sometimes get little nice and pleasant.

Sunscreen - To protect your skin from getting damaged, a traveler must always carry sunscreen and in fact must keep it in the backpack.

Mosquito repellent – A lot of your visits will be out in open areas, its always recommended to go so as to protect as you can.

As always, plan to layer - but you rarely will require on more than two layers in early October up to mid November. Try wearing shirt/tee shirt topped with lightweight fleece or knit sweater/jacket to start or end the day.

A shawl is occasionally handy - While a lightweight shawl (that could be tucked in a tote bag/day pack) would be handy, especially for covering your head if visiting places of religious interests. Also carry socks if you don't like to walk around bare feet - while you have remove your shoos if visiting a temple/mosque, even homes of some locals (depends on individuals) carry some hospital footies with tread on soles, but simple low ankle socks work just fine.

Carry packing cubes in your duffel - In case you plan to go camping or choose to stay at one of the tented accommodations: one for pants, one for shirts, one for "evening" wear. While eventually that changes to one cube for clean clothes and one for the soiled ones. Even thou it is easy to find laundry services in hotels - usually not too expensive.
