Udaipur to have its own Open Air Sculpture Museum

The Lake City of Udaipur is expected to have its own state of the art “Open Air Sculpture Museum”, on the lines of countries like Italy and Mexico.  For the first time in the history of Rajasthan, Udaipur would host a month long International Monument Stone Sculpture Symposium.

Starting from March 25 to April 25, 2013, the symposium would be open for the viewers from 10.00am to 04.00pm at the Shilpgram Museum of Udaipur.

Renowned artists from across the world would present their white, black and granite marble sculptures and share the insights of this art with audience at the symposium. George D Sentingo from Mexico, Raphael Beyal from Thailand, Kejint Toda and Akira Yomato from Japan, Aley Turan from Turkey,  Rajendra Tikku from Jammu, Rajeev Narayan Pandey from Lucknow and Bhupesh Kawadiya from Udaipur are a few to name.

Interestingly, the selected sculptures prepared by these artists would also be displayed at the major tourist attractions of Udaipur, such as Sukhadiya Circle, Saheliyon ki Baadi, Fatehsagar Pal etc.
