The CM inaugurated the rooftop solar power plant, restored 14 traditional step wells, Sawan Badhon Park at Ram Niwas Garden and real time information display system in Bus-Q-Shelter.
Jaipur smart city project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 25, through video-conferencing. The Pink City had ranked third in the contest under the smart city mission a year ago. The Prime Minister, through video-conferencing launched six projects, which are shortlisted for Jaipur. Along with the six projects, chief minister Vasundhara Raje also inaugurated eight infrastructure projects for the city.
As public bicycle sharing scheme (PBS) project will be launched under the smart city mission, the JSML has invited cyclists and prominent people of the city to ride bicycles for promotion. The foundation stone will be laid to launch PBS scheme in the walled city. As per the proposal the JMC will develop 15 cycle stands, where bicycles will be made available on rent for the tourists and locals to move around in the area. Initially, 20 cycles will be available in these stands. The (JSML) has also included the renovation of 14 step-wells in the list of smart city projects, which is pending since Resurgent Rajasthan. Sawan Bhado Park was also inaugurated under the smart city mission. In a bid to save energy and utilize solar energy, the JSML under the smart city mission project, will replace the old lights at walled city with solar lights. The solar panels will generate 100 KV electricity to illuminate solar lights.
