Hawa Mahal, the majestic Palace of the Wind, makes for the perfect backdrop for the Rajasthani show Winds of Music. Started to promote the state's cultural legacy along with tourism, the one-hour programme begins with an audio-visual presentation, Glory Of Rajasthan, with a glimpse into the state's art, culture and heritage music. This is followed by singer Parveen Mirza's rendition of 'Kesariya balam.' Langa artists Bhanwaroon Khan and his group present an array of folk dances. Accompanying the dancers are khartaal, kamaicha and algoza players. What is most fascinating is the fire-breathing act by Kailash Rana. He not only presents a wonderful show of Rajasthani music, with his Bhawai dance, but also adds a fun element with his fire-breathing act.
This show, Winds of Music, is an initiative to introduce night tourism at the Hawa Mahal. This daily live folk music and dance show promotes and showcase the internationally known and well admired culture of Rajasthan by presenting various forms of dance and music in association with Department of Archaeology & Museums, Govt. of Rajasthan.
The major attractions of the show are, Kalbelia dance by the Gulabo Troupe, Praveen Mirza’s Maand performance, Dhap- Chang by the Shekhawati Troupe, Desert Music by Bundu Khan Langa & Party and Kelash Rana’s Fire dance.
